Become a Friend

Dear Friends of the Games,

37 years… Our Exit Surveys have revealed that 55% of our attendees are repeat visitors and that overall 99% of all respondents would likely return. We are proud that this totally volunteer committee can pull off “the best highland games in Atlantic Canada” year after year!

We count on our Friends donations to ensure that we can offer a full range of activities during our festival. Our total budget is over $130,000, with $15,000 coming from people like you in our Friends campaign. Being a Friend of the Games provides you with:

  • A tax deductible receipt for all donations over $20;
  • Access to the Friends Tent at the Games: refreshment and shade on those hot days!
  • Meeting other Friends and dignitaries at the Games in our Friends Tent;

Our 2018 Games will have all the crowd favourites; the Heavy Events competitions, Highland Dance, piping and drumming competitions and of course, massed bands at our opening and closing ceremonies!

What an entertainment lineup we have this summer – we are excited to have Miller | MacDonald | Cormier followed by 2018 JUNO nominees, Còig on Friday evening. Then Saturday evening we have Mariner’s Curse until 7:00pm in the Ceilidh Tent followed by an up and coming talented local group, The Neighbours at the Lunar Rogue Pub from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. Too good to miss! Our daytime entertainers include local talent like Katherine Moller, Different Folk, HATband, Keith Facey, Frantically Atlantic, the Lamey Brothers, Curean and Atlantic Bridge.

We are delighted with this year’s workshop lineup as well! A first the the New Brunsick Highland Games Festival, we will have a reenactment of a 1700s Clan battle by Gallus Gael Living History. Of course the usual favourites are back in the Workshop tent as well,  such as; beginner bagpipe, haggis hunting, tin whistle, bodhran, and Frank Scott will host a whisky-tasting!

Thanks once again for your past support. Our hope is we can count on your caring support for 2018.

Yours truly,

Shirley MacLean
